Anti-Money Laundering Policy
Explaining why we verify
Lloydminster Casino only takes players from jurisdictions that allow online gambling. We comply with Canadian requirements on anti-money laundering and on checking age and identity. Verification is the process that lets us meet these requirements. It shows that a genuine adult holds each account and that the funds passing through it are legitimate. It also prevents our tables and slots from being used to hide criminal proceeds.
You gain from verification as well. Once verified, an account is much more difficult for another person to hijack, and winnings reach you without delay. Every balance, deposit and withdrawal is held in Canadian dollars (CAD).
Confirming identity and age
During registration we record your legal name, birth date, email and home address. Ahead of your first deposit, we compare these details with independent electronic data sources and use geolocation to check where you are playing. If the electronic match is incomplete, we will ask for documents.
We accept the following documents:
- Photo identification: a valid document issued by a government that displays your picture, full name and birth date, for instance a driver's licence, a passport or a provincial ID card with your photo
- Address confirmation: a recently issued government letter, bank statement or utility bill mailed to the address on your account
- Payment ownership: documents showing you hold the payment method. Suitable examples are a bank statement, an image of the card with its central digits masked, or a screen capture from the e-wallet showing your name
Every upload needs to be a sharp colour image in which the whole document is visible, with all four corners in the frame. Documents have to be valid, uncropped and unaltered, and we refuse documents in someone else's name. Our team checks each upload and lets you know the result by email.
Only people who have turned 19 can play here. If an ID document shows the person is under 19, we halt verification and shut the account using the steps described on our Age Verification page.
Checking the source of funds
On some accounts, we must establish the origin of the funds used for play. This typically applies when:
- deposits are larger or more frequent than the player's profile suggests
- withdrawals regularly come close to our limit of C$10 000 per month
- our monitoring flags the account for a closer look
We accept the following as evidence:
- recent payslips or an employment contract
- bank statements that show income from employment or a business
- documents from the sale of property, an investment or a vehicle
- inheritance or gift documents
Each request explains which documents we require and why. Deposits and withdrawals may be held until we finish assessing the evidence.
Keeping records and meeting reporting duties
Transaction records, verification results and identity documents are kept for the period Canadian law requires, which continues after an account is closed. We store them securely and handle them under our Personal Data Policy.
We report suspicious activity, and any transaction that meets a legal reporting threshold, to the appropriate Canadian authorities. The law prohibits us from disclosing whether such a report exists, so our team cannot discuss the matter with you.
Monitoring accounts on an ongoing basis
Verification does not stop once an account is open: it runs until the account closes. Our systems and staff monitor account activity for:
- deposits followed by withdrawal requests after minimal or no play
- deposits made with a payment method registered to someone else
- multiple accounts linked to one individual, household or device
- sudden changes in the size or frequency of your deposits
- attempts to hide your location through VPNs or proxies
Every withdrawal goes to a verified method held in your own name, so each payment can be traced. Payouts are made through Interac e-Transfer, PayPal, iDebit or Instadebit. Where your deposit was made with a method unable to accept payouts, for example Paysafecard or a prepaid or gift card, you pick one of those four options instead. Withdrawals start at a minimum of C$10. The casino charges no fees on deposits or withdrawals.
If your documents expire or your personal details change, we request updated copies to keep your file current.
Handling failed checks
An account is restricted if we are unable to finish a check, or if the information provided is false, altered or belongs to another person. A restriction may mean blocked deposits, withdrawals placed on hold and suspended access to the Lobby and Live Casino.
If requested documents do not arrive within the time stated in our email, the account stays restricted until they do. If we find fraud or money laundering, we close the account and remove bonuses and related winnings under our Bonus Terms. We then act as Canadian law requires, which can include holding funds and informing the authorities. Our General Terms set out the full account rules.
Screening against sanctions lists and PEP registers
We screen every player against Canadian and international sanctions lists at registration and repeat that screening on a regular basis. Anyone subject to sanctions may neither register nor hold an account at our casino.
We also check whether you are a politically exposed person (PEP): someone who has held, or now holds, a senior post in public life, as well as their relatives and close associates. PEP status alone does not stop anyone playing, but it brings enhanced due diligence: we will request documents proving where your money originates, and keeping the account open requires approval from senior management. If you are a PEP, please let us know.
